I became familiar with the Back to the Roots Company with one of my favorite deal websites SneaqPeek. These two young college grads came up with these kits to grow gourmet mushrooms in the comfort of your own home using coffee ground waste. They began to manufacture the kits and sell them and have now transformed their small idea into a BOOMING business.

The recently debuted their new AquaFarm. This nifty fishtank is self cleaning and grows plants/herbs on the top! Me being a Marine & Environmental Scientist by degree (and just loving fish and plants in general) thought this was one of the chicest and most eco-friendly things of all time.

MAC x Fall 2012 Marilyn Monroe Collection

I tend not to become too excited when a new MAC collection prepares for debut only because the company has very frequent collections pop up over the course of time. However, I am ecstatic and DYING with anticipation for the Fall Marilyn Monroe Collection to make its appearance. Through a little research I was finally able to get a hold of some decent pics of the upcoming collection (it will be available in the US in October). I do have to say that I am rather disappointed with the packaging. MAC went all out to design the Wonder Woman collection even making the products oversized. Complete and total revamp for the Wonder Woman collection. Marilyn is such an iconic "real life" superstar and I don't feel as though much thought went into the packaging aspect of this line. I hate the photographs they selected for the packaging. There are THOUSANDS of better photos that could have been used.

MTV Movie Awards Fashion!!

As our major red carpet event season slows down we pick up on some of the fashion of other Hollywood events. Although it was rather painful to watch Russel Brand host yet another awards show there were quite a few fashion DOs (and DONTs) at the awards ceremony.

There were a few fashion faux pas this evening but none more criminal than the frumpy frock (Guishern) donned by K Stew. Smh, Kristen Stewart I am trying to be here for you hunny. I loved Twighlight but you are still attempting to "find yourself" in this fashion world. Its a painful journey to watch. I understand wanting to be fun and different however you need to put it together CORRECTLY & your fashion team (i want to believe its you in charge love) is definitely doing the opposite.

This Sunday marks the 69th annual Golden Globes are this Sunday @ 8pm EST on ABC!! We here at Couture Voyeurism are very VERY excited and can't wait to tune in! Not just to find out who will be axing out their competition to come out on top as the winner for their category, but also for the amazing fashion that is yet to come.

I am very eager to see what Katherine Heigel, Charlize Theron, Kate Winslett will be donning this time around.

Fashion, Supermodels, & Duran Duran's "Girl Panic"

Duran Duran is a 70s British rockband that has created so much music throughout the years. Recently back in November they announced that they were getting the original members of the band together for a comeback tour! Their latest song "Girl Panic" is such an awesome catchy tune that captures the essence of what the band has always been about. The embodiment of rock and roll. 

Their music video I am SO in love with! They have taken some of the most iconic supermodels of our time and each model portrays a band member in the video. I love the diversity behind the models that were selected. And love what director Jonas Akerlund has done with the screen capture for this video. Music videos were always about the music and about showcasing MODELS. Not just any old Jane Doe. Exclusivity. These are ICONS representing ICONS. The video is TOTALLY bad ass & I love the song. Not to mention how much FASHION is in this video.
